Structured academic controversy
In APUSH, we debate everything-- whether historians are correct or not, whether famous presidents were actually good leaders... Our teacher has taught us to question anything and everything. Recently we participated in an SAC about whether or not Reconstruction was successful. In this debate, we took turns between listening and making claims about our opinions on reconstruction. I believe this exercise demonstrates listening because in order to argue your claim, you must be able to communicate with your peers by listening.
